Harbour Services

  • Bunkering

    Fuelling berths available (24 hrs) in the outer basin. Fuel is provided by Denholm Fishselling Ltd. and requires prior notification to Denholms by calling 01687 462215 within office hours.

  • Chandlery/Ship Stores

    The local Co-op is adjacent to the Harbour, and can provide a delivery service on request. Morrison Supermarket can also deliver to Mallaig by booking online. The Harbour Shop stocks limited provisions, as does Mallaig Community Hub.

  • Fishing for Litter

    Mallaig Harbour Authority participates in the ‘Fishing For Litter’ Scheme. Waste bags are available on the Harbour, and there is a reception facility for filled bags.

  • Forklift Trucks

    Mallaig HarbourAuthority has two forklift trucks available: 1 x 5 tonne, 1 x 2.5 tonnes.

    Denholm Fishselling Ltd and Mallaig Fishermen’s Co-op also have access to forklifts.

  • Fresh Water

    Available at all piers and pontoons.

  • Freight Services

    Milligan Transport Ltd operate three freight vessels from Mallaig Harbour, and also have access to a Manitou telehandler.

  • Ice

    Access to flake ice is available weekdays between 8am and 5pm. Limited capacity so please book 24 hours in advance through the Harbour Office – 01687 462154

  • Leisure Access

    Leisure access and also a ramp for landing craft is provided through the Lovat Slipway in the centre of the village. This is free to use and is owned by Nevis Estates.

    A passenger access pontoon on the inner harbour provides access for the regular ferry service to Knoydart and other passenger vessels. A shelter for those using this pontoon incorporates a luggage rack, bike storage and access to luggage trollies and wheelchairs on request.


  • RNLI Lifeboat

    Severn class lifeboat the Henry Alston Hewat is based at the harbour

  • Shore Power

    Shore power is available on the Inner Harbour. Seven towers provide a combination of single and three-phase electricity connections for commercial vessels. Electricity is charged on a nightly basis.

  • Shower & Toilet

    Shower and toilet facilities are also available for visiting fishermen within the Prawn Market building (shower requires £1 coins).

  • Waste Disposal

    Facilities are available for the following:

    - Waste Oil

    - Oily Water / sludge

    - Oily Rags

    - Diesel Filters

    - Oil Filters

    - Garbage

    - Recycling (cardboard / paper / plastics etc.)

    - Glass Recycling

    There is no sewage reception facility at Mallaig Harbour Authority.
